Does anyone have recommendations for a wedding hair and makeup artist in the DC area?

There are 5 of us! 2 African-Americans, 3 caucasians and a variety of hair textures…. We are looking for a great hair stylist and makeup artist for our DC wedding

What to I need to be a wedding/prom makeup artist?

Do I have to go to school? Do I have to get a license(I live in Illinois)? Or can I just start getting hired?

I recently remembered a movie I watched back in the late 90′s/early 00′s, but I can’t seem to put my finger on what the actual title of the movie was.

When you read about suggested makeup looks, do you ever take the advice in the magazine?

I subscribe to nearly every magazine that has a little about makeup, because I want to be a beauty consultant or makeup artists. I always save the sections about makeup and especially the ones that talk about what products to get based on your skin tone.

My question is whatever magazine it is (Allure, lucky, instyle, seventeen, cosmo, cosmogirl, people style watch, etc) how often do you pay attention to their tips. and how often do you buy the product that they suggest. (Because I don’t think i have ever done it intentionally

ok i want to be a makeup artist [mainly runway & magazine shoots...i like the bright crazy makeup] but i just dont know where to start…its all just so overwhelming for me…i tried to do the bright crazy makeup with just regular eyeshadow but NUH HUH it didnt happen…i heard pigment works better than eyeshadow but where do i buy that??? & what brand?? & how do i apply it…i have creative makeup ideas but i just cant put it on the face!! help!

Does anybody out there know anyone who needs a makeup artist in theatre or where I should go to find a job?

Im a recent graduate of Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts and I would absolutely love to get involved in doing makeup in theatre. However the ones I went to and asked about were either too small to have a makeup artist or union. I know theres got to be theatres around that need me. I know the best way to get a makeup artist job is networking but I dont know too many people out here cause I just moved all the way from Wisconsin. Can anyone help me out on telling me who, what, where or how I can find the job Im dreaming about? It would be greatly appreciated!!!

Good DS or GBA game like Imagine Makeup Artist?

I played Imagine Makeup Artist three times , because I REALLY liked it. Im looking for another game like that. What I liked about Makeup Artist is you had your makeup artist job, and you had side jobs{cafe, resturant, florist, amusement park. And you had the romance{Sean, Aaron, Chris} I wan’t a game like that. Please recommend as much as you can!

If you want to be a professional makeup artist is it better to ?

go to a school specifically for makeup artistry or is it ok to go to a college that offers cosmetology courses? What would be best when it’s all said and done, what will help me more when it comes to getting a job?

MONEY/JOBLESS! Makeup artist w/ no options (Indiana)?

I’m over $7000 in debt with no income, on my last bit of savings.

I’m intelligent but because I have made my money freelance, I literally have zero options. I look everywhere, every day, and apply apply apply with no sucess. (Even for jobs I’ve never done, like serving or retail stock.) My services are no longer nessecary in this economy.
My interview skills are fabulous and I have a wonderful resume…but I’m running out of options! Within the next week, I won’t be able to pay any more bills! (I also don’t have any family to rely on and nothing ‘worth’ selling stored away.)

would this be considered a job for my resume?

I’m trying to write my CV I just filled in all my volunteer work, now i’m at the job section. I’m a freelance makeup artist, I’ve been doing some freelance work (makeup artist for events and such) would that be considered a job to put on my resume or should I leave it out?
I’m also hoping to get a job somewhere in the cosmetology field: probably in retail for now, at a counter or something.
